ANDALUSIA'S DAY AND MATHS

CELEBRATING ANDALUSIA'S DAY WITH MATHS AND RECIPES

At the beginning of the 2nd term, students elaborated shopping lists comparing prices among different shops.

Later on,
students had to find a recipe (especially typical Andalusian or Spanish) for 4 people and adjust the ingredients proportionally for 1 person , 12 people or 25 people.

Finally, students elaborated the recipe of the best "Gazpacho": organised into working groups, students discussed in English how to create the best gazpacho recipe, After defining a basic recipe designed for two people, students applied the concept of direct proportion, which is part of the topic currently being studied in Mathematics. Using proportional reasoning, they calculated and adjusted the quantities of the ingredients to serve a larger number of guests. The results were presented in a creative poster. Afterwards, each group delivered an oral presentation in English, presenting their proposal to the rest of the class and explaining the reasoning behind their decisions.
